Fraternity Man Gives Back To His Community
September 9, 2009 | 0 Comments
Nate, a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi and a student from the University of Cincinnati, wanted to connect to the Jewish Community and make a difference. He took a leadership role in the Hillel Jewish Student Center’s “Operation Warm-Up.”
“There are no words to describe the feelings that you get when you help someone, just a normal everyday person, in something as simple as medicine, clothing, blankets, books, or food.”
Operation Warm-Up has grown from distributing 200 care packages to over 8,000, and engages over 200 volunteers every year.
“This program is not only important to the thousands of recipients that receive the packages. It is a perfect example of how the students can be involved in Tikkun Olam, and, more importantly, how we can repair the immediate surroundings and communities that we live in.”

- As the evolution of higher education continues, so do the opportunities for campuses like University of Phoenix to partner with fraternal organizations. Currently, however, I do not know of a fraternity that is present in that type of higher education community. Thanks for your question!
